With the pace of evolution of smartphones moving so fast, there is always something waiting on the wings. As soon as you have seen the latest device, there is an expectation for the next big thing.
Here, we look at the phones that have not yet been released, the next phones for 2021. We will update this list regularly, with those rumors of devices that we find reliable and exciting.
Upcoming phones 2021
As for the devices already launched, we have gathered the best smartphones for 2021 elsewhere – those that we consider the best on all platforms.
The next generation of phones
Before we dive into the details, here are some of the devices expected for 2021:
1. Sony Xperia 10 III
Sony usually announces the new device in February, but it looks like there are delays – but an increase in leaks suggests that soon we will have a new Xperia 10 from Sony Mobile. The Xperia 10 III could be powered by the Snapdragon 765G, which means it will be 5G, with a 6-inch screen and a triple camera at the rear.
2. Nokia 7.3 5G
Nokia is trying to add another affordable 5G phone to its selection and it is rumored that this phone will be used with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 5G or MediaTek Dimensity hardware. Nokia has confirmed that it is working on a more affordable 5G device and that there will be devices on this new Qualcomm hardware in the future.
3.Nokia 9.3 PureView
Rumors of a new flagship have been circulating for more than a year, with no sign of the elusive device. There was a suggestion that Nokia would hold an event in November to launch new devices, and Nokia 9.3 PureView may be on the list, but we haven’t seen any leaks for some time – and, more recently, a leaked document suggested a Nokia 10 We now suspect that there will be a February update.
4.Huawei P50 Pro
The Huawei P50 Pro is expected to launch in March or April 2021. We don’t expect major changes from the P40 Pro, but we do expect a 6.6-inch screen at the front, moving to a single front camera. We suspect that much of the focus will be on Harmony OS, with Android firmly in the rear view mirror.
5.Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
Samsung is focusing its efforts on foldable phones and we hope to see a new Flip in 2021. It should be released separately for the Galaxy S update, so we think it will appear in June 2021 or a little later. It is said that the screen will be upgraded to 120 Hz for smoother scrolling, while it is thought to be cheaper than its predecessor.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
Samsung’s next Z Fold model is expected to be the flagship phone of Samsung’s next generation of foldable phones. It is expected to take the progress of the Z Fold 2 and add S Pen support to the package.
There have been several rumors that suggest Samsung is looking for more affordable foldable phones – and the Galaxy Z Fold E is what we can get. There is talk of a Fold model with a smaller external screen like the Z Flip, designed to sell much cheaper – with a suggestion of US $ 1100. Could this be a cheaper Fold model for 2021?
6.Google Foldable Pixel
News of a foldable Pixel first appeared in 2019, with a second leak in 2020 suggesting that the code name was Passport and would be released in the fourth quarter of 2021.
With increased support for foldable and larger phones on Android 12, and news from Korea that Samsung Display has been leveraged to provide a 7.6-inch foldable screen to Google, a foldable Pixel may be on the horizon.
7. Apple iPhone SE Plus
As soon as the 2020 iPhone SE was announced, rumors began to circulate about a larger model. With the iPhone SE essentially taking over the body of the iPhone 8, some wonder if a Plus model will be launched to fit the iPhone 8 Plus space. With the new iPhone 12 mini costing much more than the SE, will Apple fill that cheap but big gap?
8.Apple iPhone 13
The iPhone 12 has just been released, but we’ve heard that Apple may be looking at a Touch ID system below the display. Knowing Apple, the design of the new iPhone would have the same design as the 12, but will it reduce the notch on the screen?
9.Oppo folding phone
Oppo has shown prototypes of foldable phones before, including a foldable device. But the latest leak suggests that Samsung’s screen will provide a 7.7-inch screen for a shell-style device. Little else is known.
